Editorial Policy
How iplScoreTrack writes, reviews and updates IPL match predictions, fixture data and betting odds. Read this before trusting any pick on the site.
1. Independence
Editorial decisions are made by the editorial team alone. No advertiser, affiliate partner, sponsor or external organization influences which team is predicted to win, which markets are recommended, or which fixtures get coverage. Affiliate revenue is generated only after content is published.
2. Prediction methodology
Every match preview follows this six-step process in this order:
- Venue data first. Average first-innings total, dew probability, spin-vs-pace breakdown, toss-winner outcome rate, last 5 results at the venue.
- Recent form, weighted by venue similarity. Last 5 matches per team. A win at a low-scoring ground is not weighted the same as a win at a high-scoring one for a fixture coming up at Chinnaswamy.
- Head-to-head at the specific venue. Minimum 6 matches at the venue over last 4 seasons for the H2H to count as a meaningful input.
- Playing XI confirmation. Probable XI compiled from official team sources within 2 hours of toss. Any key change updates the preview live.
- Weather and dew model. Humidity above 70% after 8 PM at sub-tropical venues = dew likely. Adjusts toss leverage.
- Two-editor review. Every preview is read by a second editor who must independently agree on the predicted winner before publication. Disagreements are noted as "split call" in the preview.
3. Sources
We use the following primary sources for data:
- Official IPL/BCCI feeds for fixture data and live scores.
- JioCinema and Star Sports broadcast feeds for ball-by-ball verification.
- ESPNcricinfo and Cricbuzz historical data for venue and head-to-head records.
- India Meteorological Department forecasts for weather and dew estimates.
- Bookmaker odds aggregator for market prices.
We do not source predictions from social-media tipsters, Telegram channels or unverified third parties.
4. Fact-checking
Numerical claims — fixture dates, venue capacities, head-to-head records, player statistics — are checked against at least two independent sources before publication. Stat updates between innings are verified against the official scorer's feed before being published on a live page.
5. Corrections
If we publish a factual error, we correct it within 24 hours of being notified. The corrected version carries an updated dateModified stamp and a brief "Correction" note at the bottom of the page. We do not silently edit a published prediction after the match starts to make it look better.
6. Post-match review
After each match concludes, the match-centre page receives a post-match block summarizing what we predicted, what happened, and where our process failed or worked. We do not delete predictions that turned out wrong.
7. Affiliate disclosure
iplScoreTrack receives affiliate commission from one licensed offshore operator when readers open an account via outbound links on this site. All such links carry the rel="sponsored nofollow" attribute. Affiliate commission funds editorial work; it does not influence which match is predicted to be won by which side. We do not accept payment for "promotional" match previews or biased recommendations.
8. Conflicts of interest
Editorial staff do not place personal bets on matches they review during the season. This is verified internally on a quarterly basis. Editors who watch IPL personally are required to disclose any team preference, which is then weighed in the second-editor review process.
9. AI and automation policy
We use scripted automation for fixture data ingestion, live score updates and basic statistical lookups. We do not use AI-generated text in published match previews. Every prediction paragraph is written by a human editor and read by a second human editor before publication.
10. Responsible gaming
We do not use language suggesting betting is a path to wealth. We include an 18+ notice in every promotional banner. We carry helpline links in every footer and a dedicated responsible gaming page.
11. User feedback
Send feedback, corrections, or questions about any specific prediction or article via the contact page. We respond to all editorial queries within 48 hours.
